Demographic Winter R report #31

June 19, 2025                                                                 Issue #31

If we don’t get this right, nothing else matters.

1.      There’s a link between therapy culture and childlessness – The New York Times 5/30 https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/opinion/therapy-estrangement-childless-millennials.html

“Increasingly…having a child in America is becoming a life-cycle stage you have to opt in to, rather than a default you must opt out of. Childrearing is something you consider doing when you have extensive savings and a good career and a perfect partner and are at peace with yourself and your choices and are sure that you can guarantee your kid a life of success and happiness. Except, of course you can never guarantee that for your child, just as your parents, much as they wanted to – could not guarantee it for you.”

2.      World Fertility rates in unprecedented decline, UN says – BBC June 10  https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/clynq459wxgo

The UN Population Fund  now admits that we have a fertility crisis on our hands. The cause, it claims, is that “hundreds of millions of people are not able to have the number of children they want, citing the prohibitive cost of parenthood and the lack of a suitable partner as some of the reasons.” Its solution, naturally, is more government, including subsidized childcare. Parents need more strangers raising their children

3.      China Makes Childbirth Change Among Falling Birth Rate – Newsweek June 10 https://www.newsweek.com/china-childbirth-change-falling-birth-rate-2083444#:~:text=By%20the%20end%20of%20this,state%20media%20outlet%20China%20Daily.

“China has one of the world’s lowest fertility rates, with an estimated 1.2 children per woman as of 2024. This marked a slight rise over 2023, but remains far below the replacement rate of 2.1.

The government has rolled out an array of pro-natal policies, from child subsidies to extending insurance coverage to in vitro fertilization, but with little effect, raising concerns that the shrinking pool of young workers, coupled with the rising share of retirees, will drag on growth in the world’s second-largest economy.”

PS: Too little, to late. China destroyed it birth rate 45 years ago with its one-child policy in pursuit of a mad Marxist overpopulation agenda. Now it’s trying to put the genie back in the bottle. Lotsa luck, fellas.

4.      Left’s ranks are filled with angry, bitter women – Don Feder in the Washington Times, June 1. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2025/jun/1/lefts-ranks-filled-angry-bitter-women-seduced-lies/

“Some women have traded a husband, home and children for a studio apartment and junior executive position in a marketing firm. Their nameplate will cry at their funeral.

Feminism started by fighting for women’s suffrage and equality before the law. Then came no-fault divorce and abortion on demand. Now, they are fighting for the right of people with penises to invade women’s sports and locker rooms.

Feminism begins with a denial of the reality that there are profound psychological and physical differences between the sexes.”
